About Cam the Photographer

They/Them/He/Him

I live a life of beauty, intentionality, slowness, whimsy, and wonder. My favorite hobby is tending to the mini forest of houseplants I've accumulated and watching them flourish. When I'm not lovingly admiring their lessons in slowness, I spend my days exploring Portland on my e-bike and getting to know my neighbors. My strongest value is centering disability justice within the communities I participate in. This means that I take a lot of care to make sure I am diligent in wearing an N95 respirator mask in all crowded indoor or outdoor spaces, including the weddings I photograph.

Photography has been a lifelong pursuit of mine. I started getting paid for it almost two decades ago when I was in high school! I'm proud to have had the honor and privilege of photographing thousands of people and traveled so many new places because of it. I've worked with couples and families from the West to East coastlines of Turtle Island (U.S.) and I'm always excited to travel.

I moved to Portland, Oregon from Boise, Idaho in Spring of 2025 and I have loved it here! I was made for the dark and rainy PNW lifestyle that most folks dread. In fact, I dread the long, hot, bright days of summer more than any other type of weather. If I could make a cologne that closely resembled the smell of petrichor, I'd wear it every day.

Lastly, Cam is a chosen name and yes, it is short for Camera.

(If you were referred to me by the name of Cat, that is also fine by me)
